Grooming Since 1963—Because I Love It

I never planned on becoming a pet groomer. Back in 1963, I was training to be a hairdresser when a friend asked me to help wash some dogs. One day turned into another, and before I knew it, I was hooked. She taught me how to groom, and I realized I enjoyed working with pets far more than I ever enjoyed cutting human hair. I haven’t stopped since.

In New York, I worked closely with veterinarians who trusted me to groom pets that were difficult, anxious, or needed special handling. Sometimes they had to be sedated for safety, but I learned how to work with all kinds of dogs and cats—nervous ones, wiggly ones, even the ones no one else wanted to groom. After moving to Florida, I opened Happy Puppy Pet Spa in 2011 to offer the same kind of one-on-one, stress-free service I’ve believed in from the start.
